ASCAP, the largest US performing rights society, provides cash awards ranging from $100 to $3,000, for writer members of its affiliated societies.

You may apply for an award if:

  • you are an APRA writer member (publishers cannot apply)
  • you earn less than $15,000 a year in ASCAP performing royalties, and
  • you have works licensed through ASCAP (that is, performed in the US).

An independent committee will consider all applications. The committee's decision is final.

How to apply

Complete your ASCAP International Awards form on-line by the 14th of October each year.

Include performances that occurred over the previous 1 October to 30 September period. Applicable performances include those at live concerts, night clubs, hotels, theme parks and multi-media events - broadcasts are ineligible.

  • Provide as much detail as possible about each performance
  • For each performance, give us the date, the title of the work(s) performed, the names of the performers and of the venue where the performances took place. Also tell us what type of performance it was. Eligible performances include live concerts, nightclubs and pubs, hotels, theme parks, multi-media events etc.
